Third time’s a charm | Lucky Charms | Lucky the Leprechaun | Weird Irish stereotype | St. Paddy’s Day | Guinness & Gaskets 2015.
A weird beer-inspired version of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
All that, to say this… This year’s 3rd Annual Guinness & Gaskets was amazing!
With a meetup at Key Bridge Exxon, we made our way west at 11:30am in 40 degree temps. The gang of 20 hardy souls braved the chill with the hopes of sun breaking through and warming the roads ahead.
Erik Hansen took the lead and did a great job of keeping this serpent of bikes in line (get it? serpent reference? Saint Patrick? – look it up). Like an old “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, we kept the segments together – minus a few cars lacking in patience – and made it Point of Rocks, MD.
The route back gave a little more warmth and some layers of gloves could be shed.
The triumphant arrival to BreadSoda was impressive, with Steve Teague hooking us up with front row parking! The row of bikes made for many good photos.
After a few Guinness, we started t-shirt giveaways (gathered together by Casandra Strafer) and talks from the folks at VCOM and MRF. In a town full of lawyers and lobbyist, it was cool to hear from ones that speak our language. For those of you who wish to stay in touch, here’s the contact info for the guys…
