A year ago today (September 19, 2012) we lost a good friend, Dmitri Medvedev. An inattentive driver making an errant left turn took Dmitri’s life.
Cassie, his fiancee, was riding on the back and survived. Today, she helps keep Dmitri’s memory and spirit alive.
We, here at DC Triumph, have been inspired to spread the message – WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES. If those on four wheels would put down their cell phones and watch the world around them, we’ll all be safer for it…
In a recent Facebook post, Cassie wrote…
“…one year ago Dmitri and I embarked on a beautiful journey to WV. We stopped for classic cars and lunch. I picked up the tab. We got frozen custard and watched an elderly couple next to us share their cone. We searched out vintage clothing and visited our favorite Pocomo’s Iron Works. Dmitri met a black bear that he thought was super cool. We filled up and literally rode into the sunset. He rubbed my knee and minutes later the universe took what was always hers. Dmitri passed doing what he loved with whom he loved, many never get a death like that. If you can’t get on a bike today stick your hand out your car window and feel the breeze. That’s where he is, still riding.”
I, for one, will be flying my arm in the wind today.
Miss you Dmitri…
